Phil Laak

Phil Laak is best known for his antics at the poker table. Wearing his trademark sweatshirt and sunglasses he quickly became known as the 'Unabomber’ and is famous for pulling closed the drawstrings on his sweatshirt's hood to hide his face during large hands. Laak is also currently dating actress Jennifer Tilly, who won a WSOP bracelet in 2005 in the $1,000 buy-in Ladies no limitholdem championship. Tilly has since been nicknamed "The Unabombshell." Laak’s first major win came at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles on Tuesday 24 February 2004 in a WPT event dominating the final table and winning a cool $100,00. This was followed by a 2nd place finish in the $2,500 pot limit holdem event at the WSOP in 2005 for a massive $156,400. Laak has also recently experienced a lot of success playing the high stakes poker cash game on GSN winning over $200,000 at the table in the second series. More recently Phil took first place on Poker After Dark in a winner takes all SNG with a first prize of $120,000.

Roland De Wolfe

Roland De Wolfe – Journo makes good. Roland De Wolfe was born 1979 in London, England to a family of gamblers. He started his career in gambling at the tender age of 12 playing cards, sports betting at 14 and pool hustling as soon as he could fool pub landlords that he was old enough to drink. After doing a journalism course and a short spell at Esquire, he landed a job at Inside Edge (now Inside Poker) magazine, reporting on poker tournaments. Watching and learning, Roland entered the Gutshot Poker Festival and won it! He’d had enough of working for someone else so took the plunge and went pro. An excellent series of results followed – in 2005 he cashed in the $1000 event at the WSOP and then won the Paris event of the WPT. In 2006 he cashed over $1,000,000 in the WPT championship event at the Bellagio and followed that by winning the Dublin leg of the EPT. Roland is so far the only player to have won both a WPT and EPT championship event. European Poker Player of the Year 2006, Roland De Wolf is an impressive young man with a winning smile, an aggressive poker style and over $3,000,000 in live tournament winnings to date (which puts him above such names as Antonio Esfandiari and Ram Vaswani in the all time money lists). Online, he has joined that elite band of players at Full Tilt Poker. Not bad for someone who only went pro three years ago – nice one Roland!
